Garnet’s passion for cars has made possible another success story about technological innovation.

Last August, Formula SAE 2016 event was held at the Hockenheim circuit, where the Italian team Race UP sponsored by Garnet competed.
Formula SAE, also known as Formula Student, is a competition between university students organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), which includes the design and production of a racing car in Combustion or Electric category, evaluated with multidisciplinary tests on its quality of design and engineering efficiency.
In the words of Ross Brawn, Patron of the project: “Formula Student encourages very diverse innovation. In many ways Formula Student has the potential to be more innovative than F1”.

In the Electric category 39 all-electric cars from all over the world competed. The only Italian one among the participants was the Origin E made by Race UP, the team of the University of Padua composed of male and female students from Mechanical, Aerospace, Electronic and Mechatronic Engineering, Management, Economics and Communication Sciences.
Despite this was the first year of participation in the category for Race UP, the results have been very good, especially for the technical solutions and design of the battery management system, for the electric motors, for the inverter controls and the monocoque, all components fully developed by the team.
Garnet supported Race UP and provided Tamagawa Smartcoders and Resolvers used on the 4 synchronous motors of the car.
Garnet ha partecipato supportando Race UP e fornendo gli Smartcoder e i Resolver Tamagawa usati sui 4 motori sincroni della monoposto.
